UPDATE: July 25, 2023 BURN BAN FOR TOWN OF LAKE MILLS HAS BEEN LIFTED BY THE CHAIRPERSON’S ORDER AS OF JULY 25, 2023. UPDATE: BURN BAN CONTINUES FOR THE TOWN OF LAKE MILLS AS OF, FRIDAY, JULY 21, 2023 PER ORDER OF TOWN CHAIRPERSON. The Town continues the ban due to the lack of precipitation and the dry vegetation. When these conditions change, lifting the ban will be considered and notification provided.
BURN BAN ENACTED IMMEDIATELY
The Town of Lake Mills Chairperson has enacted a burn ban beginning Wednesday June 21, 2023 until further notice per town ordinance 3-10-13(2) for the public welfare, safety and the protection of property. The ban includes the burning of grass, leaves, wood or any other controlled fire within the Town of Lake Mills, Jefferson County. This would include campfires. The Town also prohibits the use of all fireworks including legal fireworks within the Town during this extremely dry period; legal fireworks are defined in the Town Ord. 3-13 (see town ord. 3-13 Fireworks Prohibition on the town’s website. www.townoflakemills.org)
